EdTech 502 - Internet for Educators
Semester: Fall 2014
Instructor: Lora Evanouski
Week 1 Reflection:
I am really looking forward to this class. I have absolutely no experience in coding HTML or CSS. In fact, I had never even heard the words ‘Cascading Style Sheets” before I entered this class.
My goal, upon my return to teaching, is to be a technology leader - assistant principal, technology supervisor or specialist. I have always wanted to learn Dreamweaver and HTML coding. I see so many people looking at the code while developing websites and I thought this knowledge would be a very valuable tool to have in my future roles.
This week was just an introductory week. This was great for me because in 501 we used Google+ as our learning platform. Yes, we also used Moodle but mainly only to hand in assignments and to look at the assignment list. I used this week to learn to navigate the Moodle platform and I now feel confident in my ability to use this platform for this course.
Our assignments included a short biography and a refresher in VoiceThread. I learned how to use VoiceThread in 501 but It was nice to get a refresher.
I look forward to the remainder of this semester and bringing this new found knowledge of technology to my school board. I can’t wait to get started.
